Executive Education
has become a significant corporate priority as much
as individual executives. It seems obvious as the corporate
management itself has undergone metamorphic and unprecedented
changes. The changes are largely due to changing and
uncertain business scenarios, global level movements
of capital, people, materials and other resources. Thus,
it became imminent to have different kind of executives
with sets of new skills, talents and also abilities.
Possibly these considerations influenced the corporate
enterprises to look at the executive education differently.
Corporate enterprise itself is being defined differently.
All these matter in equipping management and managerial
cadres to keep themselves updated and acquire skills
of new order, perspective for understanding and enabling
them to gain a ground for change and action. This being
the trend, it is going to see many more changes. Managers
by themselves cannot cope up to learn on their own exclusively
but need timely and flexible support to gain an advantage
of learning, skills and perspectives and most importantly
their ability to look and perceive the reality.
During the last decade, a number of attempts were
being made by the corporate world to bring changes
within their management and in their ranks of management
through their own efforts including in-house training,
development, and mentoring, besides others. Though
this has been seen as one of the effective ways of
bringing possible development, it has turned out to
be rather limited in its scope and organization. Hence,
it has been felt necessary by the corporate to provide
more opportunities for executives to learn and enhance
their capabilities and to enrich their experience.
A number of such opportunities can be seen through
weekend programs, online education, sandwich programs
etc
TAPMI’s attempt is largely based
upon the understanding that an institute with credentials
and with good reputation could devote to executive education
through a user-friendly approach but without diluting
the standards of education. This is how the executive
education has been initiated and CEE has evolved as
a full fledged centre over a period of a time. Executive
education has thus become an important constituent of
TAPMI and CEE has benefitted by this outlook. The Centre
provides a useful, flexible learning environment for
executives who could devote enough time for updating
their skills, honing their talents and importantly enabling
them to look at managerial work from a different lens
and perspective. I am indeed glad that CEE could play
its role in such a venture and proved to be useful to
the executive community at large.
I welcome you once again to explore the opportunities
we offer and wish you success in your endeavour.
Sincerely
D. Nagabrahmam
