TAPMI is located at Manipal, Udupi district of Karnataka. Manipal is also known as the “International University Town”, which is a proud host of several renowned institutions and organizations in higher education, health-care and banking.

The Founder of TAPMI, late Shri. T.A. Pai had a vision to establish a management institute to provide the much needed impetus to building and nurturing professional management capability in support of economic development and growth.

The T. A. Pai Management Institute was established in 1980, to make the vision of late Shri T. A. Pai a reality. A two-year full time Post Graduate Programme in Management commenced in 1984, with the first batch of 40 students. Today TAPMI inducts about 140 students annually for its flagship PGDM programme at Manipal.

Over the years, TAPMI’s programmes have been recognized by its stakeholders as being among the best in the country. Continuous improvements and innovations in academic systems, curriculum and programme delivery have contributed to making TAPMI a preferred business school.
